Grainger Built contrabassoon reeds are available in Rieger K1 or NN shape. Each reed is tested on a Mollenhauer contrabassoon and reamed to fit a standard Heckel bocal.

    I had initially ordered the K1 shape, but unfortunately they were out of stock so I received the NN shape. The reed itself is not bad, buts its very thick and fairly out of tune in the middle - high register. The wires were also loose even after soaking, so I tightened them a bit and tried to sand down the reed to lighten it up. Over all it works, and I got it fairly soon after ordering it which was much appreciated.
